Cottonwood Heights' Youth City Council (YCC) gives community youth the chance to get involved in our community.

All council members must live within Cottonwood Heights boundaries (or attend high school in the city) and be in grades 9-12.

Since members represent the city, they must be willing to serve, show integrity, set an appropriate example, attend meetings, and support the council's goals. Besides being fun, Youth City Council looks good on resumes and scholarship applications.

We focus on three core areas:

  • Service: YCC members help with city events, do service projects, and volunteer in various capacities
  • Education: YCC members learn about city government and have the opportunity to interact with city leadership, other volunteers, and employees to gain a better understanding about what our does
  • Social: YCC members also plan and participate in social activities with each other to strengthen bonds and facilitate great relationships

Besides being fun, Youth City Council looks good on resumes and scholarship applications.
