General policy

The Cottonwood Heights city hall is available for resident use. Non-community groups and non-residents may also be scheduled based on secondary availability and city approval. Review the Facility Use Policy and fill out the Facility Use Application.

Building rental hours

Rooms are available first come first serve:

  • Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday: 7 a.m. - 10 p.m. 
  • Tuesday: Closed 
  • Friday and Saturday: 9 a.m. - 11 p.m. 
  • Sunday: Closed

Rentals cannot interfere with city business, and city meetings and events take precedence over other building use.

Fees

8-Hour Block (All Day) Rentals:

Available Friday and Saturday

  • Resident: $650
  • Non-resident: $1,200

Hourly Rentals:

All rentals have a mandatory two-hour rental minimum and include set-up and clean-up times. For all day rentals and hourly rentals: You'll incur a $50 charge for each additional 15-minute increment or portion of that increment. For example, if you arrive 20 minutes early, you'll incur a $100 charge.

  • $75 per hour:  Resident, 501(C)(3) nonprofit within city, or business within city limits
  • $150 per hour:  Nonresident, 501(C)(3) nonprofit outside city or business outside city limits
  • Government: Free during business hours, and then $50 per hour

Prepaid Security Deposits

A security deposit is required at the time of reservation and is non-refundable. The deposit helps ensure that the facility is used responsibly and in accordance with the rental agreement.

City staff will inspect the facility after the event to verify the following:

  • No building or property damage

  • No missing city property

  • No rental agreement violations

  • Compliance with the approved reservation time

  • The building and surrounding property are left clean and orderly

If damage, missing property, or other violations occur, the applicant will be reliable. If the cost of damages or violations exceeds the amount of the deposit, the remaining balance will be billed to the applicant. The coordinator will manage all security deposits and any related damage assessments following the event

  • 2,400 square feet
  • Maximum occupancy: 156 
  • Microphones and monitors (must bring laptop from home)
  • Chairs and tables available, including 5-foot round tables, 8-foot and 6-foot banquet tables, and 5-foot meeting tables
  • Catering kitchen for warming food
