About the Exhibit
Cottonwood Heights Arts Council presents “Utah Watercolor Society Annual Exhibition,” a Utah Arts & Museums Traveling Exhibition Program, from March 20th through April 24th at City Hall. The pieces in this exhibition illustrate the best of Utah watercolor art, as recognized by annual exhibitions held by the Utah Watercolor Society. The show highlights the variety of ways that watercolors can be employed in painting
The Utah Watercolor Society (UWS), a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization founded in 1974 and a member of the Western Federation of Watercolor Societies, is dedicated to the promotion and advancement of art through water media. UWS seeks “to promote the advancement of the art of painting watercolors, and to hold annual exhibitions of watercolors.” They define “watercolors as paintings in transparent and/or opaque water media, or unvarnished water soluble media on paper.”
