2019 Election Results Announced

Congratulations to candidates Douglas Petersen and Scott Bracken, respectively

Cottonwood Heights  will welcome a new face to District One next year as Council Member-elect Douglas Petersen steps behind the dais. Petersen has prior experience with the Cottonwood Creek Community Council, where he worked in planning and zoning prior to the incorporation of the City of Cottonwood Heights. Petersen, a Brighton High School alum and BYU graduate will represent District One, replacing Mike Shelton.  Petersen won the election by a margin of 52.24 percent to 47.73 percent over opponent Deborah Case. Cottonwood Heights  will welcome a new face to District One next year as Council Member-elect Douglas Petersen steps behind the dais.  In District Two, Scott Bracken will retain his seat as the elected official. Bracken has represented Cottonwood Heights since the city's inception in 2005 and will continue to do so for another term. Bracken won his district by a margin of 57.51 percent to 42.49 percent over opponent Tim Hallbeck.
