Fireworks Prohibited in Cottonwood Heights During Pioneer Day Holiday

Due to continued wildfire concerns, the discharge of personal fireworks is prohibited within Cottonwood Heights City from July 22 through July 25, 2026.

Pursuant to Governor Spencer Cox's Executive Order 2026-04 and in accordance with the Utah State Forester's Order dated July 20, 2026, Cottonwood Heights has notified the State Forester of its intent to prohibit the discharge of fireworks within the City's official boundaries. Under the updated state guidance for the Pioneer Day holiday, municipalities retain the authority to implement additional fireworks restrictions when local wildfire conditions warrant.

With hot, dry conditions continuing across the region, even a single spark can ignite a wildfire and threaten homes, neighborhoods, open space, and public safety.

What Residents Need to Know

• Personal fireworks are prohibited throughout Cottonwood Heights City from July 22–25, 2026.
• Residents are encouraged to attend professional fireworks displays as a safer way to celebrate Pioneer Day.
• Please help protect our community by complying with all local fireworks restrictions.
