Curbside Christmas Tree Collection
WFWRD Begins Curbside Christmas Tree Collections
Salt Lake County, UT – During the month of January, Wasatch Front Waste & Recycling District (WFWRD) provides curbside Christmas tree collections for WFWRD customers. This service is provided each year and is part of the standard services.
WFWRD proudly serves the cities of Cottonwood Heights, Herriman, Holladay, Millcreek, Taylorsville, and portions of Murray and Sandy; the Metro Townships of Copperton, Emigration, Kearns, Magna and White City, the Town of Brighton; and all unincorporated areas of Salt Lake County. Please do not drop Christmas trees at parks if you live in WFWRD service areas.
“Cities outside of WFWRD may have different levels of service,” stated Pam Roberts, WFWRD General Manager. “Residents should confirm with their respective cities if they provide Christmas tree collections. Dropping off Christmas trees at the wrong locations causes challenges and extra expenses.”
Christmas trees are collected and delivered for composting at the landfills. The trees must free from decorations, lights, and flocking. The goal is to have all Christmas trees collected to be processed into organic mulch or compost. Artificial trees are not accepted.
Yael Johnson, WFWRD Customer Services Manager, indicates that customers are welcome to contact WFWRD offices at 385-468-6325, or on our website at wasatchfrontwaste.org, to confirm that their tree will be collected. With over 85,000 households to service, it is easier if we know that you need your tree collected at your curb.
