enforcement_logo The Cottonwood Heights City Council adopted the municipal code, which is specifically designed to address blight, nuisances, and to maintain a clean environment for all citizens in our community. Cottonwood Heights does this by working in partnership with the residents, property owners and business owners in our community.

The mission of the Ordinance Enforcement Division is to promote and maintain a safe and desirable living and working environment. We help maintain and improve the quality of our community by administering a fair and unbiased enforcement program to correct violations of municipal codes and land use requirements. We also work with residents, neighborhood associations, public services agencies and other city departments to facilitate voluntary compliance with city laws and codes and to establish community priorities for enforcement programs.

The Ordinance Enforcement Division is responsible for enforcement of the following Cottonwood Heights city code provisions:

  • Animal Control Violations
  • Public Nuisances
  • Building Code Violations
  • Zoning and Land Use Violations
  • Improper use of Streets and Sidewalks
  • Weed Abatement
  • Business Licensing
