Saturday, January 31, 2026 | 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Cottonwood Heights City Hall | 2277 E Bengal Blvd, Cottonwood Heights, UT 84121
Free | Family Friendly | All Are Welcome
Join the Cottonwood Heights Arts Council and the Asian Arts and Culture Association for a vibrant celebration of the Lunar New Year, a holiday rich in history, symbolism, and community spirit across many Asian cultures. Often called the Spring Festival in China, Lunar New Year marks the first new moon of the lunar calendar and celebrates new beginnings, family reunions, and hopes for prosperity in the year ahead. It is one of the most important holidays in countries such as China, Vietnam, Korea, and others throughout Asia, each honoring the occasion with unique traditions and joyful festivities.
This free, family-friendly event will feature traditional Chinese dance and music, a Tai Chi demonstration, and other captivating cultural performances. Afterward, children are invited to participate in hands-on crafts (while supplies last) inspired by the holiday’s themes of luck, happiness, and renewal.
Guests can also explore a special art exhibit in the City Hall lobby, curated by the Asian Arts and Culture Association, showcasing works that celebrate Asian heritage and artistic expression.
Come experience the colors, rhythms, and traditions of the Lunar New Year as we welcome the Year of the Horse together as a community.
