Wasatch Blvd. Master Plan Open House Planned for March 19

Posted on 03/05/2018
Please join the City of Cottonwood Heights for an open house on the Wasatch Boulevard Master Plan on Monday, March 19, from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at City Hall.
The Wasatch Boulevard Master Plan is a project led by the City that will guide the future evolution of Wasatch Boulevard and the communities it serves. The Plan focuses on the corridor between Interstate 215 and the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon. It is a partnership with the Wasatch Front Regional Council in collaboration with the Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT), Utah Transit Authority (UTA), surrounding cities, Salt Lake County, and others.
This planning effort will paint a comprehensive picture of the corridor, will develop a long-range vision for the corridor, and will develop strategies to achieve the vision.
Last November, the project team held the first project open house. This event introduced the project, its corridor goals, and some initial ideas. The first open house drew an engagement of over 100 community members who contributed valuable perspectives and great additional ideas for achieving the corridor goals. A summary of the feedback from the first open house can be found here.
Now the project team is back with a series of potential concepts for achieving the corridor goals. These include ideas for street and transportation improvements as well as for land use along the corridor. The team has also organized these concepts into three "scenarios" that pair complementary land use and transportation solutions.
The open house will:
·         Provide an overview of the project
·         Summarize the results from the first open house
·         Present the potential project concepts and alternative scenarios
·         Present the project team's assessment of how well these concepts and scenarios achieve the corridor goals
·         Provide opportunities for you to give us your perspective on the potential project concepts and alternative scenarios
