More than 100 people came to a town hall meeting at City Hall on Nov. 8 to learn about a proposed accessory dwelling unit (ADU) ordinance, and to let their voices be heard.

The proposed ordinance would address basement, “mother-in-law” and “out” building apartment rentals in the city, which are currently not prohibited by city code.

The meeting was hosted by the City Council and Planning Commission, which will consider the ordinance over the coming months.
