New Mayor and Council Members Take Oath of Office

Cottonwood Heights’ new mayor and two new council members were sworn in during a special city council meeting held on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 5 p.m.

The evening also included speeches, entertainment and light refreshments.

Mike Peterson became the city’s second mayor, following Kelvyn Cullimore’s tenure since the city was incorporated 13 years ago.

Peterson previously served as the city’s District 3 council representative.

Replacing Peterson in District 3 is Tali Bruce, who was also sworn in during the ceremony.

In addition, Christine Mikell will took the oath of office, replacing Tee Tyler on the council, representing District 4. Tyler chose not to run for re-election. 

A standard city council agenda followed the ceremony.
