Council Approves Property Tax Increase
Posted on 08/23/2018

After an open house and public hearing held on Aug. 14, the Cottonwood Heights City Council passed an ordinance approving a 13.4 percent increase in property taxes.

The council followed the state-mandated “Truth in Taxation” process, allowing citizens to voice their opinions on the proposal.

After considering comments and concerns from several engaged residents, the council voted to approve an increase for property owners in the city on Aug. 15.

The average increase for the average homeowner will add an additional $58 to residential revenues collected (based on the average taxable value of homes in Cottonwood Heights).

The council appreciates all who were engaged in this process.
